Released in 1966,this is Willie's second record with R.C.A.,the first album being (Country Willie His Own Songs),and his first overall release (And Then I Wrote)on Liberty.(by the way this is not a live album.)Country Favorites,backed up by the Texas Troubadours,Willie went straight into the studio cold and recorded this album in two days.When listening to this great recording I've noticed that the songs fly by like a freight train moving at full steam,not a bad track on this one. Listen for Seasons of My Heart, a George Jones composition or the classics Heartaches By the Number,San Antonio Rose.If you like the traditional style country,this is Willie Nelson like you've never heard,singing Country Favorites at his very best,an absolute must. |  | | |
