My Favorite Christmas Album Of All Time.   (5 stars)
I remember watching this Christmas special on tv when I was kid. I still have the LP version. I picked up this album on CD and it is my favorite Christmas album of all time. The songs on this album are a good mix of some fun songs (e.g. "Christmas Is Coming" with Miss Piggy), classic carols (e.g. "Silent Night"), and happy ballads (e.g. "A Baby Just Like You"). This album is a great item for any Muppet fan or any fan of John Denver music. Just make sure the album you buy has 13 tracks. A few years ago, a condensed version of the album was released that included only 10 tracks.
Great versions for children and adults   (5 stars)
John Denver and Jim Henson, although they passed away 7 years apart, died at the same age of 53. They both had short lives but in their short lives they entertained people of all ages. This album is no exception to it as both they and the Muppets put together a Christmas album which is among favorites. As the reviewers before mentioned, make sure you have the full version of this album, as the album is not complete without all of the tracks from the original 1979 edition. The CD is worth every cent for the laughs and the music of this special time of year.
It's not Christmas without The Muppets   (5 stars)
Being a product of the late '70s, I grew up on The Muppets. I just adored the television show, the movies, and (holiday) specials. The Muppets is a reminder of my innocence and where there was no threat of terrorist acts. Every Christmas year (for the past couple of years), I like to pull out the Christmas cd that The Muppets did with John Denver. I am by no means a fan of the late John Denver's music. Frankly his music is the equivalent to bran (boring and bland) however I will make an exception to his work with The Muppets. Heck! Ever since I saw the Xmas special with The Muppets and the frequent guest appearances on each other's show, I had learned to associate John Denver with The Muppets. Anyways, I just pulled out "A Christmas Together" since it is getting close to that time of year of celebrating Christmas. For no other reason other than The Muppets, I get a big huge smile whenever I listen to "A Christmas Together". I especially have a few good yuks over the reggae-influenced "Christmas is Coming". The thought of Miss Piggy and co. singing reggae is a bit on the ludicrous side but it works. I always get a big kick out of the "Twelve Days of Christmas". I get a big huge laugh over The Muppets singing that normally repetitive song. Then there are songs like "The Peace Carol" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" that just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and out. I am normally not a huge fan of Xmas albums but "A Christmas Together" is one of the few exceptions. It takes me back to my childhood.
The best Christmas album I've heard   (5 stars)
You don't have to be a kid, or even a die-hard John Denver fan, to love this album. The lighthearted songs are fun and whimsical, and the poignant, mysterious songs are joy-filled and beautiful to listen to. I was in high school when this album came out, and it's been my favorite ever since. It's not Christmas until I've heard this rendition of Silent Night. And don't think that the Muppets detract from the holiness of the songs. Quite the opposite. Their hoarse, not-quite-real voices make it seem as though the animals are singing songs they'd sing, if they had real voices. It's a lovely combination of innocence, holiness, and joyfulness. Your children will love it to. Don't miss this album.
Wonderful Christmas album for anyone with a heart   (5 stars)
Having grown up with the muppets, first on Seasame Street and later their own series and movies, I couldn't resist getting this album. The mix of traditional and John Denver original Christmas songs is the perfect blend.

I have one warning: Be careful of the version you buy. There are CDs out there masquarding as the full 1979 version. Check the play list and make sure there are 13 tracks.

Happy listening and Merry Christmas!
